This booklet presents a carefully curated re-creation of a turn-of-the-century Arts and Crafts master bedroom, reflecting the movement’s emphasis on simplicity, natural materials, and harmonious design. Drawing inspiration from period guidance in The Craftsman magazine, the vignette offers a private, restful environment where every furnishing and accessory serves both a functional and aesthetic purpose.

Many key pieces are by Gustav Stickley, including a rare Model #917 bed frame, oak cabinets, and early chests of drawers. Highlights also include a 1901 fall-front desk, a Harvey Ellis–designed cheval mirror, inlaid side chairs, and Roycroft copper lamps. The room’s warm, natural palette is enhanced by Morris-inspired wallpaper, reclaimed quarter-sawn oak flooring, and period lighting such as a Tiffany Studios peacock-shade lamp.

Decorative and functional objects complete the setting: Grueby and Teco pottery, Roycroft copperwork, and finely crafted accessories by contemporary metalsmith Rich Reitz. Paintings by Hermann Dudley Murphy and Emile Albert Gruppe, each in historically appropriate hand-carved frames, bring fine art into the intimate domestic space.

Accompanied by historical context and period photographs, the publication offers insight into how Arts and Crafts design principles shaped the private spaces of the home, blending comfort, utility, and beauty into a cohesive whole.
