This booklet was produced as a companion to the exhibition of the same name, showcasing highlights from the Two Red Roses Foundation’s holdings as presented at the Museum of the American Arts and Crafts Movement. The exhibition brought together exemplary works across furniture, lighting, metalwork, ceramics, textiles, photography, and fine art, illustrating the depth and breadth of one of the nation’s premier Arts and Crafts collections.
Featured objects included furniture by Gustav Stickley, Charles Rohlfs, and the Craftsman Workshops; lighting by Tiffany Studios and the Roycroft Shops; and metalwork by Dirk Van Erp and Arthur Stone. Masterpieces of American art pottery from Grueby, Teco, Newcomb, and Rookwood were shown alongside textiles by C.R. Ashbee’s Guild of Handicraft and architectural panels by George Washington Maher.
Richly illustrated and concisely written, the booklet presents each object within the larger narrative of the American Arts and Crafts movement, emphasizing design innovation, handcraftsmanship, and the use of natural materials. It serves both as a record of the exhibition and as a lasting introduction to the ideals and artistry embodied in the Foundation’s collection.
